How are watches shipped, and are they insured in transit?
Insurance for full replacement value is included on all shipments of watches and accessories. An adult signature is required to complete delivery of all packages.
Do you charge sales tax?
ElegantSwiss.com is required by law to collect sales tax on orders shipped to New York. If you are shipping to New York State, the appropriate charges will be added to your merchandise total and displayed on your final order confirmation.
Does ElegantSwiss.com have a traditional retail store?
Our company works out of a secure office building. If you live in the New York City area and wish to see a specific watch or sell your timepiece, please give us a call. We do not see walk-ins, so we ask that you call for an appointment (347-871-3229).
How do I know whether your watches are authentic?
All of the watches advertised on ElegantSwiss.com are guaranteed to be authentic with manufacturer serial and reference numbers intact. All photos are of actual merchandise being sold. WE GUARANTEE all watches to be 100% GENUINE and AUTHENTIC. We do not sell any forged, fake, or suspect watches that we could not guarantee beyond any doubt to be authentic. In all of our years in business, we have never sold a fake watch, even accidentally. Selling even a single fake watch would ruin a reputation we have been building since 1998. Moreover, the authenticity of our watches is guaranteed indefinitely for as long as a customer owns the watch. Our watches are sourced directly or indirectly from authorized dealers whom we trust and have been dealing with regularly for years. They are, like us, members of the International Watch & Jewelry Guild. By dealing only with trusted sources who never deface or remove serial numbers, we ensure that each and every new watch is authentic. When purchasing high-quality pre-owned watches, we strive to buy only from collectors, especially those with whom our company has a long-term working relationship. Each pre-owned watch we receive goes through a rigorous inspection process and is checked against an authentication database or known counterfeits. Moreover, each watch that is considered for purchase by our company is subjected to the scrutiny of our watchmakers.
Can I negotiate or do you price match?
Yes, of course! If you see a watch you like, contact us, and we will try to work with you on the price.
Why do some of your prices sound “too good to be true”?
That is because we look for best deals and pass them on to our customers. Our vast network of watch dealers allow us to purchase closeouts, overstock, and rare to find watches. Our integrity also helps us get the best possible deals.
What types of payment do you accept?
Bank wire transfer is the preferred method of payment. We also accept cashiers and personal checks from repeat buyers, PayPal and credit and debit cards. Please refer to our “Payment and Fraud Protection” section for more information.
When can a customer expect to receive payment for a watch bought by ElegantSwiss.com or included in a trade deal?
All watches need to be received and examined by our watchmakers. This is necessary to ensure quality control. Once the watch has been received and approved, we will forward the payment within 48 hours via bank wire transfer or overnight check.
When do you expect to receive payment for a watch purchased by a customer?
Payment is due upon purchase. We do not ship watches until full payment is made.
When do you make refund payments on a watch that has been returned to you?
Refunds are made within 72 hours after the watch is returned and inspected.
If I am dissatisfied with my watch purchase, how long do I have to return the watch to you?
The watch(es) must be returned within seven (7) days of initial transaction.
